Is it normal for the CPU light to temporarily turn red when booting the system?Ĭ. If you have any suggestions on what I can do to get my new build working by any means, please let me know!Įdit: I also noticed when I turn the computer on, the CPU led temporarily flashes red and then clears and then the MemOK turns red. I reset the jumper, switched video card slots, changed ram slots, removed ram, used different ram slots, made sure the cpu heat sink wasn't on too tight but nothing worked.
I tried most of the suggestions in various forums but nothing worked. No matter what I did the MemOK kept flashing its evil red lights and I could not do anything else. I tried various times to get into the bios while my keyboard was powered for a second by holding the key but I could not get in. After a few more seconds the computer itself restarts and instead of a red blinking light there is a solid red light of death. When I turned the computer on I noticed my mouse and keyboard gets powered on for less than a second and powers off. I was getting the red blinking light of death on the MemOK. When I turned on the computer everything seemed so perfect with the chasis lights blinking and blue led fans spinning. After carefully reading all the instructions and lots of googling I slowly put the computer together. They were the final parts I needed to have all the parts necessary to build my first computer and I was very excited.

Thanks for reading help if you can! Please! (I looked it up and think it is fine but. So there are a couple things that I think could be wrong and need some opinion.įirst my power supply only has a 4 pin connector not an 8 for the mobo. Reset cmos with the pin thing (didn't try the battery this yet) Went to bios and they show they are there Tested all 3 sticks in old mobo in another tower I had set up. And pressed mem ok button after red light comes back on. Tested all 3 of my ram sticks one at a time in every slot.
Here is more pc specsġtb toshiba hdd (120 gab ssd (not configured yet)) Everything comes on (fans in case and gpu fans, cup fan, all my LEDs and the cd drive will open but close instantly) only thing not coming on is my keyboard lights and mouse lights.
I got all my computer put back together with the new mobo and cpu and I'm recieving flashing red lights on the mem ok led. Ok so here is my problem, I just bought an asus m5a97 r2.0 motherboard and amd fx8350 8core black edition cpu.
